The university college Hogeschool voor Wetenschap & Kunst (W&K) (in English "University College for Sciences and Arts") joins leading institutes for higher education in Flanders: De Nayer (Sint-Katelijne-Waver), Lemmens Institute (Leuven), Narafi (Brussels), Sint-Lucas Architecture (Brussels-Ghent) and Sint-Lucas Visual Arts (Ghent).
The administrative centre of the university college is located in Brussels, the capital of Belgium and of the European Union. The campuses are spread across Flanders: in Brussels, Ghent, Leuven and Sint-Katelijne-Waver (Mechelen). The multidisciplinary character of the Hogeschool voor Wetenschap & Kunst is definitely an asset. Architects, musicians and engineers, cameramen and visual artists are complementary and work together.
Association K.U.Leuven

The Hogeschool voor Wetenschap & Kunst is a partner in the K.U.Leuven Association. In 2002 thirteen institutions of higher education in Flanders have joined forces in this association in order to occupy a position of strength within the new European educational landscape and to work together towards quality improvements in education.

Teaching
The Hogeschool voor Wetenschap & Kunst offers high-quality education, capable of withstanding comparison with national and international levels. Its student-oriented education reaches beyond the transfer of knowledge. The educational programmes focus on a motivating way of tutoring the student and creatively supporting the individual learning process. In this way students are prepared for their future social role, gaining the necessary competences for further qualification.
Research
Several faculties of the Hogeschool voor Wetenschap & Kunst have a long tradition in (applied) scientific research. The university college stimulates the expansion of all possible scientific research and the development and practice of the arts as a socio-cultural service. The Hogeschool voor Wetenschap & Kunst emphasizes on the social relevance of research and the added value for the educational programmes. The university college interacts openly and strongly with its partners in the field of action: business and the arts, universities, institutes for higher education and other research organisations, at home and abroad.
International cooperation
It is our goal to create a suitable environment for foreign students, academic staff members and business partners. We strive to offer everyone the opportunity to develop new aspects of their education and personality in a European framework. Therefore the Hogeschool voor Wetenschap & Kunst participates in various European exchange programmes and maintains partnerships all over the world. The official language of instruction is Dutch. However, most institutions have set up special English taught modules for the benefit of exchange students.
